CA' MON
Javier Monzón García
Born in Madrid, began his artistic journey at the Royal Conservatory of Dance.
His talent quickly led him to the National Dance Company and, later, NDT 2 and NDT 1, where he worked with key figures in contemporary dance like Crystal Pite, Ohad Naharin, and Jirí Kylián.
Later on, Javier decided to transition to a freelance career. He worked alongside choreographers like Anouk Van
Dijk and Marina Mascarell and began creating his own choreographic works, such as Urizen, Up&Down,
and Bashdoor, which delve into movement's emotional depth and complexity.

Erik Cataldo and Javier Monzón García
are two contemporary dance artists whose practices are defined by a relentless commitment to creativity, collaboration, and innovation. Their careers span leading dance companies, cutting-edge projects, and personal endeavors, all influenced by their unique connection to urban spaces and their dynamic energy.

Erik Cataldo
Originally from Sicily, honed his skills in Italy and Berlin, where he deeply explored
contemporary dance. His career took him across Germany, where he worked on various productions
and projects while developing a passion for electronic music. Seeking broader horizons, Erik expanded
his artistic journey internationally, contributing to dance productions and collaborations in countries such
as Qatar and Cyprus, further enriching his artistic palette.
His drive for expansion also led him to work
with the Siciliano Contemporary Ballet and collaborate with renowned choreographers like Michael
Langeneckert. His experiences in Belgium and the Netherlands, particularly with Isabelle Beernaert’s
modern dance company, solidified his choreographic voice, which blends movement with innovative
sound landscapes.

began with an unexpected personal encounter between Erik Cataldo and Javier Monzón. From
their first conversations, ideas and perspectives started to connect, slowly shaping the vision of what
would become this project. Both are professional dancers with different backgrounds and journeys, yet
they discovered a strong affinity: a shared way of feeling and creating through dance and art, and even a common sensitivity toward life and how to navigate it. For Ca’Mon, dance is not limited to conventional spaces.
Their work seeks to break free from structures, opening space for distortion, rupture, and escape. Each
performance is an experiment that twists expectations, time, and the body itself. Movement becomes a way of resisting the ordinary, challenging perception, and re imagining how the body relates to its
surroundings.
Through distortion, what feels familiar dissolves; through escape, new possibilities appear. Their creations move between the most conventional and the most unexpected, crossing different territories: from contemporary to commercial, from theater to club, from the technological to the native.
This journey opens a wide range of opportunities and perspectives, allowing their two distinct personalities to merge into a shared artistic voice.
The name Ca’Mon itself—formed from Cataldo and Monzón—carries layers of meaning: “Ca” recalls
Sicilian roots, while “Monzón” evokes torrential rains, symbols of strength, transformation, and renewal.
Together, they embody a meeting point where different energies converge to create a singular artistic
identity.
